Man Style – Our Love Affair With Menswear Continues…

Yesterday I was watching the film Impromptu, with Hugh Grant and Judy Davis were Davis plays the French writer George Sand, a woman who dresses in men’s attire in the 19th century.

Actresses such as Marlene Dietrich, Katherine Hepburn and Diane Keaton have all dressed in men’s attire and have become style icons. Need I say more? Although dressing in men’s attire no longer raises eyebrows as it did back in the 19th century, it still has a sensuality and empowerment to it.

Why I love this look… It’s sleek and sophisticated.

Here’s how to bring the feminine into this masculine style.

Saint Laurent Iconic Le Smoking Spencer Jacket in Black Wool Crepe, $2,690 USD A tuxedo jacket worn over a silk camisole or bare skin, but not showing too much cleavage is super chic!

ZARA Open Work High Heel Leather Sandal, $99USD Killer Heels, especially sandals, like these, show off the curve of the foot, transforming any masculine tailoring into a sexy, womanly look.

Tory Burch Adalyn Clutch, $350USD Add a splash of the season’s hottest color to complete the look.

BCBG Floral Statement Necklace, $198USD Wear a feminine, glamorous necklace to offset the masculine overtones.

H&M Fitted, Long Sleeved Stretch Shirt, $19.95USD. A fitted, crisp, white shirt is a sure way to adopt this look for office attire.
